SAN FRANCISCO: Oscar nominated Emma Stone reveals about her battle with anxiety and panic attacks
According to sources, La La Land actress confessed that she has been suffering from a lifelong battle with anxiety. She confessed that she struggles to contain her nerves. Stone opened up about her mental state, commenting, “The problem started early in my life: As a child, I was prone to panic attacks and debilitating shyness.”
“It’s just the way I’m wired, “added Emma. Emma Stone informed the media that she started therapy when she was just seven and attending youth theatre has helped her overcome her anxiety. However, she further added that filming Birdman brought back her anxiety in 2014.
“The tightrope walks of that movie, the pacing and timing. I lost my mind a bit,” she said. “I just got to a point where I snapped,” she added. According sources, Birdman actress was asked if she was knew what triggered the anxiety. Emma confessed that she has identified what triggers her anxiety and informed that being lifted in the air makes her anxious as once she broke her arm falling from a bean balance when she was seven.
“I got knocked off a horse as a kid and haven’t got back on since. I had to face her fear while filming the upcoming period drama The Favourite.”, stated Emma, expressing her fear of horse riding that triggers anxiety. Easy A actress admitted that interviews are tough and nerve wrecking. “Before any interview, I have to sit with myself for five minutes and breathe and get centred because I get so nervous. Interviews are kind of like therapy, except all your answers are being written down and printed. I always want to be on the other side of it. I don’t want to be deconstructed for millions. I’d rather do the deconstructing, “she stated.
